If you’re talking about using the Links widget, a simple solution is to use more than one of the widgets and order them the way you like. You can read more on the Links widget here.
Hey how do you add tabs or menus whatever they are called, on the top of the blog, i tried doing that with the appearance and menus thingy, and i make the menus, but and save them but the old ones are still there…plus there is a box on the side of my screen saying: “Your theme supports 1 menu. Select which menu you would like to use.” although the old ones are their and theres like 6 of them. I NEED HELP!
If you have a lot of links in your sidebar, you might want to make them easier to navigate by breaking up them up into categories. Here’s how it works.

Is there a way to re-order the link categories as they appear on the blog?

If you’re trying to use the new custom menu feature and you are on WordPress.com, please see http://support.wordpress.com/menus/ .
It is much the same on self-hosted WordPress, but please note that your theme has to support the use of custom menus for them to work.
