An interesting plugin that could be used in addition would be one that automatically changes this after a certain period of time. Say you want a post assigned to one of several authors after posting as the admin.

I think it’d be a good idea if there was a bulk edit option to change the author of multiple posts. Unless, of course, it’s possible and I don’t know about it.

In the “Edit Post” area I’ve scrolled to the bottom of the page — as shown in the video — yet, when I go to the live blog I see no Author listings for any of our blogposts. Has anyone else run into this problem? I thought I might need to “Activate” authors somewhere else in the dashboard but if that’t the case I can’t locate the spot where that’s done (I have dragged the widget to the sidebar, and that listing-by-author is working). I’m looking for a headline first, author second, blogpost third set-up. If anyone can throw me a lifeline on this one I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks…

      Hello!

Some themes do not display the authors at all when showing a blog post. If you’re using self-hosted WordPress and are industrious, you can always alter the theme to do so. If you are using WordPress.com, you’ll need to either get by without or select another theme that does display the author information.

Thanks Ryan. Well, that explains it… I thought I was doing everything right and I feel better about this knowing it wasn’t my apprpach. If it can’t be done, it can’t be done. Thanks for taking the time to post, I appreciate it.

Does anyone know how to change the contents of the author dropdown? It’s showing user names (chrisadonner) instead of the full name I had set up in my profile (Chris Donner).

The dropdown should display the “display name as” name rather than the username or full name. You can alter that from your profile to read as anything you like.

I’m using the Wu Wei theme, which also does not have an author dropdown on the Edit Post page. However, if you go to All Posts and hover the mouse over the title of the post whose author you want to change, then select Quick Edit, you can change the author in that mode. I don’t know if this works for other themes, but it’s the only way I’ve found in this one to change the attribution. Hope this is helpful.

you may explain this better because many users dont know how to activate this option…
just go to the article page and on the top of the page on the right side you’ll see a button called ‘more options’ then just activate the option ‘Author’…
