Couldn’t you just click the “HTML” tab to get to HTML mode, instead of completely disable the visual editor?

    • Ryan Carson Says:

I’m afraid not, it mangles the JavaScript.

  2. Peng Says:

Loved the video. Thanks for making and sharing it.

      No prob :)

  3. Andreas Nurbo Says:

Just use my GWO plugin instead. It is way better and fully integrated.
No need to disable anything, it works in the wysiwyg mode. Even have click conversion support and section selection so you don’t have to type any javascript code.
    Check it out here: http://andreasnurbo.com/gwo-plugin

This filled in a lot of the gaps I had in understanding how to use GWO with WordPress. This should make it very easy to test my post now.

I also trying to figure out how I would be able to test my homepage conversions. index.php or home.php are not post or pages in WordPress so it poses some challenges.

Thanks for the great video Ryan!

wow never heard of A/B testing, that’s wicked cool

  6. Chris Says:

    Very helpful, Ryan. Thank you.

Is there a Part 2 to this that goes more in depth? For instance, how to add the tracking codes without a plug-in?

Or, is there something like that already out there?

  7. Scott Says:

    Hey Ryan,

Thanks so much for the video – it was really helpful and explanatory. Looking forward to trying this out myself soon.

Even Ryan found the new way to do testing – http://www.performable.com – and of course the associated site where people share their tests – http://www.abtests.com/

  9. Don Says:

Great video. I really don’t do nearly enough testing so this has given me some drive to get started. Thanks

  12. Carl Says:

Ryan, we are just about to embark on a test with this. We get so many people hitting our Beginner Course page but still have very low conversion rate for that course.

So here goes and we’ll be sure to tell you the results.

    Thanks,

    C

Great video. I always have wanted to do a/b testing on my blog, but didn’t exactly kenw how.
However, I’m not sure if I can use it for my purposes:
Can I also use it if the conversion page is not on my site? I want to test different call to action texts, but the link people click on is a cloacked affiliate link. I cannot add code to that affiliate link.
I thought I could use the plugin GWO of Andreas for it, but that page is down.
