Great video Steve!
We wanted to post videos of our group trips, travel tips and interviews so we actually purchased the Zi8 and lavaliere mic after watching your video on youtube a few months ago.
It’s not as difficult as I thought it would be.

Wired lav – Audio Technica ATR3550
Records in mono so you just export after editing as mono – or you can get an adapter at Radio Shack to switch it to stereo.
