Un plugin que nos resuelve una necesidad con tan solo un par de clicks suele ser algo muy tentador, pero muchas veces no tomamos dimensión de los potenciales problemas que implica introducir código de terceros en una web.

Y muchos problemas pueden solucionarse de manera muy sencilla sin necesidad de instalar plugins, pero a veces la solución no es tan obvia.

Aquí vemos algunas de esas instancias y ofrecemos soluciones a largo plazo que no requieren instalar ni mantener plugins.

I did too!

But the theme review process can be scary, even for experienced developers.

In this talk, I’ll share my personal experience of submitting my first theme to the WordPress.org repository.

From the initial submission to the “finally” moment which was the final approval, I’ll share the steps, challenges, and lessons I learned along the way.

After all design builders used to make designing websites faster for her clients, Zee has found the default 2024 WordPress theme to be just as effective.

In her sharing, Zee will walk you through the different design builders she had used and how different groups of website owners want their websites to look and function.

December 3, 2024 — Explore how non-coders can contribute to WordPress by testing, updating documentation, and working with design and accessibility teams, highlighting the importance of no-code contributions in the open-source community.

WordPress aims to democratize publishing which got me thinking, what if a non-coder like myself could ever contribute to WordPress Core. Since the inception of this idea, I began working closely with the Core Team as well Design and Accessibility. Completing tasks such as testing, updating documentation, administrative work including ‘leading a bug-scrub’ or bug-gardening are all great examples of contributions that don’t necessarily require you to know ‘how to code’. In this talk, I try to paint a picture of an universe where WordPress can thrive with contributions from con-coders and folks such as you and me. I also try to justify the significance of No-code contributions to WordPress and how it is powering the project.
