January 31, 2025 — In today’s technology-driven world, it is essential to address the gender gap in the tech industry. The topic of the “gender of code” explores the pervasive gender imbalances, biases, and the broader landscape of women’s and LGBTIQA+ participation in technology.

The technology sector has long been dominated by men, leading to disparities in opportunities, representation, and workplace dynamics. These gender biases have not only hindered the progress of diverse professionals but have also influenced the very codes and algorithms that underpin our digital lives.

This session aims to shed light on the idea that “code” itself is not gender-neutral. It reflects the perspectives and biases of its creators, often perpetuating gender stereotypes and reinforcing existing inequalities.
