This session goes through the highlights of using CSS preprocessors (we’ll mostly focus on Sass), their awesome features, and how to integrate them into your WordPress theming workflow.
September 14, 2014 — Our focus will be beginning CSS. We’ll use Firefox Fire Bug to show non developers how to do simple things like changing styles, colors, and things like heading tags and different classes. I’ll show people how to target classes & ids, as well as how to make the changes in real time so they can see what it would like if the changes were enacted. I’ll also show how to access the Stylesheet so you can just copy & paste the CSS from Firebug into your Stylesheet or the JetPack Custom CSS.

September 2, 2014 — Pseudo-selectors are my favorite CSS tool. They make it possible to create some amazing visual effects, while keeping your HTML semantic and minimizing the images on your site. This presentation introduces the basic concept of pseudo-selectors, and goes over the various pseudo-selectors that are available and when they are useful. It provides examples from sites I have developed of how I have used pseudo-selectors to achieve visual effects that would have been very difficult or even impossible without them.
