October 24, 2017 — The initial premise of my project was: as a freelancer who builds websites using pre-made themes, I hear sometimes, developers say that it is wrong and that it decreases the value of the website creation process (lower prices due to less development, less flexibility, less functionality, lower performance etc…).

This statement lead me to think about what could possibly be the cheapest “professional” WordPress website could you buy?

So I created the cheapest WordPress website possible, hiring only freelancers from bottom price marketplaces.

My talk will present the different steps of this WordPress process and creation covering various aspects such as the costs, limitations and problems encountered.

October 24, 2017 — A Carta de Conjuntura FEE teve seu primeiro número divulgado em maio de 1991. É uma publicação mensal, que tem por objetivo analisar as questões mais importantes da conjuntura econômica nacional e regional.

Até 2014 ela era publicada como um arquivo PDF com todos os textos, sem separação ou possibilidade de filtro por texto ou autor. A publicação foi então migrada para um método mai ágil de disseminação (WordPress + plug-ins) mantendo critérios próprios de publicação (como metadados e múltiplos autores por texto).

Após a migração um acompanhamento de métricas mensurou os resultados da migração.

WordPress meetups en WordCamps zijn de ideale plek om te beginnen met het vertellen van je verhaal. Op bijeenkomsten met gelijkgestemden snapt iedereen hoe spannend het kan zijn om voor de groep te staan. Ze zitten er om jouw verhaal te horen. Niet om je ten onder te zien gaan. Ze luisteren aandachtig, willen van je leren en moedigen je aan.

Om een verhaal te mogen vertellen op een Meetup of WordCamp moet je de organisatoren er van overtuigen dat jij een goed verhaal hebt. Dat klinkt moeilijker dat het is. Vanavond maak je een begin met je aanmelding voor WordCamp Antwerpen. Als uitgangspunt gebruiken we een template en tijdens een aantal oefeningen ga je op zoek waar jij een verhaal over zou kunnen vertellen.

Naast een verhaal is het handig als je beschikt over een aantal vaardigheden om je verhaal goed over te brengen. Niemand is geboren als goede spreker. Goed spreken bestaat uit het kennen van de trucs en oefening. Vanavond leer je een aantal trucs die je helpen om je verhaal te structureren en hoe je zelfverzekerd en goed voorbereid aan je verhaal begint. Oefenen kan thuis maar in de regio zijn er ook verschillende meetups met oefenplekken voor first-time-speakers.
