Wonderful information thank you so much! Do you know if there is currently an extension of this block or the latest post one to exclude the current post ID in case these block are being added on a single post template and used as a related post block?

Ryan Welcher has written a plugin that extends the core query loop block with a variation that supports some extra refinements such as excluding current post.
