Rather than blindly dropping in ad scripts and praying something happens, let’s talk about how we can better understand some fundamental concepts and strategies for ad integration.

In “Make Ads Great Again,” we’ll develop a better appreciation for how important a correct ad integration is for the success of your WordPress site and how we can actually make them contribute to your site aesthetic.

February 27, 2017 — One of the most important parts of building a WordPress site from scratch, is brainstorming and building out the various types of data, and how they relate to each other.

In this talk we will cover:

Creating Custom Post Types
Creating Custom Taxonomies
Using Metadata for CPT’s and taxonomies
How best to make relationships between these two data types.
How to build performant queries.
And lastly we will look at some basic caching techniques that we can employ with Transients and/or Object Cache to make these queries even more performant.

In this talk, Joe Ponzio will discuss the differences and limitations of WordPress with concrete examples of some of the amazing things that those “other” guys just don’t know how to do in WordPress. You’ll learn when WordPress is the right solution for your website (hint: it usually is) and when it’s not. We’ll shatter some misconceptions along the way and uncover how the guts of WordPress are the same guts those “other” guys are proposing, they just don’t want to understand it.

Se recalcará la importancia de hacer que el contenido de tu web sea lo más abstracto posible para ver cómo podemos dotar a este de funcionalidades añadidas haciendo buen uso de layouts y técnicas de Responsive Web Design.

Potom uvidíte, ako umožňuje bezplatný plugin PaidMembership Pro zobrazovať jednotlivé časti stránok webu určitým skupinám používateľov. Následne si vypočujete, ako PMPro skombinovať s WooCommerce, aby ste mohli časť obsahu predávať, napr. vzdelávacie videonávody a postupy. V závere sa dozviete, ktoré tri veci to môžu celé skomplikovať a bez zvýšeného úsilia v podstate členský web, ale aj akýkoľvek e-shop, postaviť mimo prevádzky.

February 20, 2017 — Isabelle Garcia is a front-end web developer and social media geek. She is a “Digital Nomad” and travels the world working remotely. She has no fixed base, no office. Isabel likes to frequent local libraries, not to borrow books but to take advantage of the quiet atmosphere. While other digital nomads meet at coffee shops or co-working spaces, she likes to spend entire days and even weekends in the common areas and desks of public libraries.
