May 1, 2024 — The Make WordPress Training team are stewards of Learn.WordPress.org – the official education website for WordPress. The Learn WordPress website is currently in the process of a revamp and will launch with clearer structure, design, and pathways to learn from in July 2024. There’s never been a more exciting time to get involved with the WordPress Training Team and have a strong impact on the WordPress community!

In this workshop, team rep Ben will introduce attendees to the Training Team, and its five areas of contribution. Participants will learn what it means to be a Content Creator, Editor, Content Translator, Subject Matter Expert, and Administrator, for the team. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of what they can do next to contribute to the Training Team and its goals.

April 30, 2024 — In this lesson, we will use various patterns to create a Services Page. Patterns allow you to add beautifully designed, ready-to-go layouts to any WordPress site with a simple insert or copy/paste. Learn how to add and modify patterns to suit your design needs.

April 30, 2024 — WordPress 6.5 introduced the Block Bindings API, which lets you connect custom fields (or any data) to Core blocks. In this session, we discussed how this fits into the bigger picture of the block system and how you can combine it with existing features, laying the groundwork for much more advanced and dynamic site builds.

April 26, 2024 — In this lesson we will explore how to use the Create Block Theme plugin for theme development. The learning outcomes are to: describe what the Create Block theme plugin is, and why you might use it, and identify the main features of the plugin and describe their functionality.

April 25, 2024 — Join me as I dive deeply into WordPress Playground and all its different permutations, to see what they are capable of.

This week I am looking into the WordPress Playground Visual Code Studio extension, and testing out all the different modes, “wordpress”, “plugin/theme”, and “wordpress-develop”.
