October 11, 2019 — Marcel walked more than 700 kilometers to get to WordCamp Europe to raise funds for a good cause in the WordPress community. He will tell you about his preparation, the journey itself, people he met, and how he managed to step away from his company for a month to do it.

March 25, 2019 — In May 2019, Marcel Bootsman will walk to Berlin from his hometown Berkel en Rodenrijs, to raise funds for DonateWC and support the WordPress community.

DonateWC is an initiative that aims to provide people with lesser financial means with funds to get to a (big) WordCamp. From donations that they collect, they’ll provide deserving community members with a WordCamp ticket, door to door transportation, accommodation, food and drink money, internet access and a once-in-a-lifetime experience
