February 9, 2018 — In this talk, David and Angelica Yarde of Sevenality talk about their journey, as both front-end developers and designers, of building their branding strategy firm full-time while starting a family. This talk will share the technicalities of running a WordPress business with your spouse, using systems to organize family life, traveling and public speaking with a toddler, and why personal branding and identity is integral to building a business.

February 8, 2018 — I will be sharing my WordPress story and journey. How WordPress can be a source of happiness to ones life when one wakes up every morning. How one can make a living with WordPress if one is ready to put in the work. How one can fit into the WP community and be inspired to do more. Most importantly, how to fall in Love with WordPress, how I did and how you can too.

January 9, 2018 — I entered the world of WordPress because my husband invited me to join him during his trip to WordCamp Europe 2016 in Vienna. I did not even know what WordPress was up to that point. I was scared of meeting the “nerdy” part of my husband’s life probably due to not being able to get involved into it because of a lack of both interest and knowledge.
The story I want to share is about how things evolved afterward, as I visited several WordCamps as a passionate volunteer to the point of getting a true WordPress Community-Junkie. It is about how the community has actually allowed me to take part in the life that my husband’s leading every day. It is about how I became a WordCamp speaker and emcee as well as a member of the organizing team of three different WordCamps including WCEU 2018 without even having used WordPress professionally before.
It is the story about how I have been changing my life completely in one year: from sickness, frustration, and depression through a new source of inspiration and creativity to lots of new opportunities in personal and professional matters.
Being part of and contributing to the WordPress Community can be a very inspiring and enriching experience – not only for WordPress users and professionals but also for their partners, friends, and family.

December 15, 2017 — Up to this point, my relationship with WordPress has known many sides. I started as a WordPress.com blogger and then moved to WordPress.org. Step by step, while trying to customize my blog, I began to understand how flexible WordPress was. Besides HTML and CSS, I discovered that I was able to learn PHP by myself, by following WordPress tutorials and forum discussions. After a while of study and practice, I launched my freelance business and spent a few years building mostly WordPress websites for clients with different business types and from various parts of the world. Today, I handle product development for CaptainForm, a WordPress forms plugin launched in 2015.

I would like to walk you through the ups and downs of this journey, to share some of the insights that I’ve gathered along the way and, most of all, to express my deep passion for WordPress and for the beautiful things you can build with it.

December 8, 2017 — In this talk, I plan to get down to the nitty gritty of what I went through, how I overcame it, and what I’m doing to continue down the path of both physical and mental health. It will be very personal, raw, honest, possibly uncomfortable at times (for me), and hopefully inspirational, as I plan to share not only my own story, but the stories of some of the others within our Community who have been through their own journey (with their permission, of course).
