    thanks in advance ><

This widget is included by default in all new installations of WordPress and on WordPress.com. You should be able to find it in Appearance > Widgets in your site Dashboard.

How can I change the maximum posts displayed in the sidebar from 15 to unlimited?

    • Ryan Markel

You cannot; the widget has a hard maximum of 15.

I’d like to know how to edit the core code as well.

If you’d like to know more about the widget that’s included with the self-hosted version of WordPress, your best bet is to check with the Support forums at http://wordpress.org/support/.
