John Hawkins demonstrates the basics of constructing a plugin, designing it to make the changes you want, and then using that plugin to alter your WordPress site in a persistent way. Includes some basic discussion on hooks and functions, as well as some sample code.

This comment is not only for this video.
I notice that on many of the WordCampTV videos, the video is on the speakers face when he’s obviously pointing out something on the presentation screen. It would be nice to be able to see what he is talking about at these points.
While it’s occasionally nice to see the person who is talking, it takes away from your online presentation, if we can’t see the presentation screen when we need to.
I hope in future videos that this can be dealt with.
Keep up the good work. I do appreciate everything you are doing.

I agree. It is very annoying and distracting when the camera goes back to the speaker. This is completely unnecessary. Stay on the presentation screen.

While many videos on the wordpress.tv site work, this one DOESN’T PLAY. And no it’s not my computer/browser/operating system/internet connection.
Look guys, you’ve got a LONG way to go before you’re Google. Host your videos on YouTube like everyone else so they work RELIABLY, otherwise people just get frustrated.
