E-commerce used to suck. You had to manually build a content management system, integrate with PayPal’s API (barf), and worry that there was a security hole somewhere. Now with solutions like WooCommerce you can build an e-commerce store in 30 minutes. Yes seriously. It’s really easy to setup and it’s 100% free on the WordPress.org repository.
