Hey there, thanks for a great run-down on Org vs Com. just noting that with the exception of Custom Domain registration w/Mapping or Mapping an existing domain, individual upgrades are not available on WordPress.com. Upgrades are available only as part of the Premium and Business bundles. The Business bundle upgrade includes Google Analytics as well as E-commerce but e-commerce is limited to connecting to WPcom partner sites, who may charge an extra fee for their service.

Just updating that since my earlier comment, all individual upgrades and e-commerce on WordPressdotcom were removed and the Personal plan was introduced. I very much hope that WordPressdotcom will introduce a new e-commerce solution in the near future.
