WordCamp Europe 2025Speaker: Hector de Prada

June 7, 2025 — One year ago we reactivated, after 4 years, the meetup group in our small city in the north of Spain (with a population of less than 150k). Since then, it has become one of the biggest WordPress meetups in the world, with an average of +55 attendees in person and with more than 110 people coming to one of the events. This has been possible because of the incredible work of all the organizing team and the experience of its members organizing events prior to this in different industries; Business, technology, sports, education… In this quick talk, I would like to give specific tips and tricks we have used to make this possible. For people planning on organizing a WordPress meetup in their city, or also for people having a hard time to get people to attend their current meetup group events. Which we know it’ a challenge, because a lot of people in Spain reaches out to us.
