The team recently revamped the Learn WordPress website with clearer structure and design, and with anew focus on Learning Pathways – online courses that help learners grow in their skills as WordPress users and developers. With more Learning Pathways in the works, there’s never been a more exciting time to get involved with the WordPress Training Team and have a strong impact on the WordPress community!
In this workshop, team representative Kaito will introduce attendees to the Training Team, and its different areas of contribution. Participants will learn what it means to be a Content Creator, Editor, Content Translator, etc. for the team. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of what they can do next to onboard to the Training Team and contribute to its goals.

With a history of 11 years on WordPress, handling 10 million posts, and 38,000 terms, The New York Post has been a testing ground for scalability. In this talk, Linnea will share her strategies for managing WordPress at the enterprise level, demonstrating how minor adjustments can lead to significant enhancements in site responsiveness and stability.
Attendees will learn about the architecture of the Gutenberg block-based site that has successfully handled millions of daily visitors and vast amounts of content. Linnea will detail her approach to identifying and resolving bottlenecks, implementing ongoing optimization techniques, and showcasing how tools such as New Relic and the Xdebug profiler can be pivotal in this process.
October 12, 2024 — The team at Human Made inherited an authentic, content-focused website, but it wasn’t built to enterprise standards. They stepped in to make sure that the old worked seamlessly with the new.
Although WordPress is great for content creation if users like the block editor,
enterprise sites need far more than its out-of-the-box features. But this doesn’t have to mean building a new site from scratch. The audience will gain an understanding of the key building blocks necessary for a highly performant, high-traffic website.
