As well as getting you thinking on how you can use the REST API in component or projects you might be working on.
March 2, 2015 — WordPress search is notoriously lacking. Why? MySQL is not search optimized. Elasticsearch is a scalable database that when coupled with WordPress produces extremely powerful results.
This talk will cover what Elasticsearch is, why it’s important, and integrating it with a WordPress website using a 10up open source plugin called ElasticPress.
February 27, 2015 — During 14 years of working with clients I learned what are the early signs of clients from Hell. I want to share that knowledge, because I believe now that some jobs are just not worth it (stress, white hair, ulcers… ;)). I tell why it’s important to always be honest with client about tools we use for our job – in this case WordPress. And at last – how to avoid working with client when you have bad feeling about it.
