October 13, 2017 — In this interactive experience we’ll be exploring honesty in agency life. Too often in the agency world and society, we have an unwillingness to put ourselves in a state of vulnerability to our clients and our peers.
Adversity is what drives us to be better, to problem solve and to grow in all aspects of our lives. Nothing in life is perfect and even with extreme planning there are still curveballs thrown our way.
Aaron will be sharing his insights, missteps and lessons learned from nearly 20 years of agency experience, including his 10+ years running Linchpin: a WordPress focused digital agency. He will be encouraging interaction with attendees along the way, providing audience members with the ability to anonymously participate in sharing #fails and #wins on Twitter and/or the WordPress RI Website.
August 3, 2016 — One of the biggest challenges any business owner, freelancer, project manager or customer support expert comes across is gaining trust of their potential and current clients.
Within this session I will be sharing insights into clearly establishing project plans for yourself and clients; with the over arching goal to stay organized and hold each other accountable. I will be speaking about pitfalls of going too far out of your comfort zone or taking on projects that aren’t “”quite right””. I’ll touch on jumping into Higher Education, E-Commerce, Online Publications and simply taking on your first big project.
Lastly I’ll provide examples of scenarios that have and have not worked for myself and my team in relation to educating our clients to get the most out of WordPress by getting into the WordPress dashboard and feel comfortable to take ownership of their content and their website because you’ve got their back!
August 6, 2015 — We explore the continued evolution of our talents through school, online research, self exploration, or accidental discoveries. I share useful resources regarding a number of areas such as process, dev and design. Some additional touch-points of the topic include cooperation, collaboration, competition, co-working and playing well with others. A secondary goal is to encourage confidence in attendee’s abilities as they grow and evolve in their career (regardless of what that is). Aspects of the session will have a WordPress slant to them.
