February 14, 2023 — In January 2023, a few community members from the FSE Outreach Program gathered to discuss various upcoming features specific to Block Themers:

– Applying local styles globally: push block design changes from post/template editor to global styles.

– Inputs for Custom CSS: add custom CSS from the site editor Styles panel.

– Exploring the Style Book: show all blocks (including third-party) in site editor, making it easier to test everything when designing.

– Edit block style variations: edit (not yet create) existing block styles of a theme from the Styles panel.

February 24, 2022 — Ellen Bauer (ElmaStudio – https://www.elmastudio.de) erklärt die neuesten Features vom Full Site Editing (FSE), die nun mit der WordPress-Version 5.9 im WP-Core zur Verfügung stehen. June 12, 2021 — Ellen Bauer und Manuel Esposito betreiben als Elmastudio seit Jahren einen Shop für WordPress-Themes, sind seit den frühen Tagen des Gutenberg-Projekts interessierte Beobachter*innen und arbeiten im Moment an der nächsten Version ihres ihrem Aino-Themes, das komplett auf den Block-Editor setzt.

Die beiden ehemaligen Wahl-Stuttgarter haben für unser Meetup am 9. Juni live aus Neuseeland einen kleinen Vortrag zum Full-Site-Editing mitgebracht um anschließend Fragen zum Thema zu beantworten.

April 16, 2020 — “This session begins with three separate case studies – from Bill Erickson, Ellen Bauer, and Beth Soderberg – to help you prepare themes for Gutenberg and concludes in a tremendous panel discussion.

Bill uses his time at the very beginning to show how to improve content management for clients by applying careful, thoughtful work to your themes. In the second presentation, Ellen talks about important considerations when working on themes that you plan to distribute to others (that is, themes you plan to sell or provide to a large audience for free). Then Beth helps us to build smarter starter themes using better default block styles and support.

After the presentations, each speaker returns to participate in a panel discussion about the challenges and considerations they couldn’t cover in their separate presentations.”
