January 24, 2018 — This talk will explore my experience being married to open source. I will also explore the ways the communities support each other through initiatives such as CMS Garden (An initiative to promote all major open source CMS projects). I will also share the top things I learned about myself and the combined future of an open source web.

January 10, 2018 — Open-source has a major impact on our lives, from small things to big. You know… the ATM you’re using daily for routine payments, the mobile phone you can’t leave aside for at least 5 minutes, the web browser you’re opening to read this now; all of them flourished because we worked together for a common purpose. They ease your existence more than you realize.

But what if open-source never existed? Have you ever asked yourself this question? I have, and I even pictured the world without it. Which is exactly what I am going to talk about in my presentation at WordCamp Ahmedabad 2017.

We’ll take a look at plugins and themes used in journalism and the impact each has on readers. We’ll identify areas for improvement, and simple ways that everyone can get involved – from documentation, to translation, and (of course) development.
