I would have liked to see some mention of “buddypress” for turning wordpress into a community type site. While wordpressMU is usable it is rather clunky and can be hard to make mass edits across multiple blogs.

BuddyPress can be used on single WordPress sites to build a community. It is not multisite-specific. 🙂
