This is exactly why I need to, want to, am going to find a way to really LEARN WordpPress. I will be able to grow with it while it becomes even more phenomenal. I’m not a developer, designer, or power user. Somewhere out there is a resource to help me through the maze so 2013 is when I will have expertise – and that’s not all that far away. How hard can it be?

It was fantastic to be there and hear how well WordPress and the community is doing, and what the direction is from here. Glad to be a part of it 🙂

A fantastic overview of where we as a community stand. Definitely excited about some of the upcoming goals for the project!

I second the motion for better plugin compatibility testing among plugins and with WordPress itself. Thats the biggest impediment to auto updating for me.

    Hi,
First of all, I want to thank Matt for featuring me and my colleagues. Thank you very much.
Secondly, I need to correct the info about the third example of WordPress and maps. I wasn\’t the author of it, it was a friend of mine called Miguel Peixe. We at Hacklab developed the plugin on which the site is running. He used the plugin and customized its theme 🙂

    Fabulous. Really.

p.s. Was surprised / pleased to hear you talk about RealTime Editing. Yes, GDocs is amaze-balls cool. Or hey, editing comments in G+ works too!
DAV … distributed authoring and versioning … been kicking that stuff around for over 2 decades.

Yep, this was good as always… and as soon as it’s available, keep an eye on the WordCamp Portland site and when they have their videos up. Matt did a Townhall Q&A yesterday, and I watched it via livestreamed. It was great. He is truly one of the best when it comes to “on the spot” Q&As.

I really liked the discussion about this years WordPress survey. I also love the idea for auto updates.

Listening to the “WORD” gets me so excited every year. Just when I think I cannot love WordPress anymore! Thanks for asking and listening to us through the survey.

Loved the video and am excited to hear about the survey and the auto updates.

Now I really need to focus on WordPress after watching Matt’s encouraging message. Yes, 99% of my clients’ websites use WordPress, and I was thinking of picking up a bit Joomla. Now I would give all my time to WordPress, which has helped me to get over 90% of my income.

First guy I heard (among the ones doing great stuff) not being self-assuming nor pretentious.
