November 18, 2023 — I was able to transition because of my WordPress career. The community support, the generally accepting nature of WordPressers, and the wide range of remote work opportunities within WordPress made becoming my true self not only possible but probable.

In this talk, I’ll share how WordPress aided in my gender transition as well as outline how to create local WordPress communities that go beyond acceptance and make transgender and gender-nonconforming people feel safe and welcomed, leading to a better community experience for all involved.
