May 6, 2018 — We all have 24 hours in our days, but we spend them very differently. This talk is about the discoveries I came across, tracking every minute of my life since February 2017. I use time tracking across all areas of my life.
This presentation will be divided into two sections: ‚The benefits of time tracking at work‘ and ‚The benefits of time tracking in your daily life‘.
I find that time tracking has the following effects: increased productivity, improving choosing the right task to work on, feeling in control of your day/life and making an excellent feedback loop for reflection.

May 5, 2018 — Having the right images can make or break a website. Designers create templates that depend on high-quality photos, visitors expect appealing visuals, and social marketing is less effective without attention-getting graphics. With such high demand for perfect images, website managers can be tempted into downloading whatever they see on the internet, resulting in lawsuits that lead to bankruptcy. If we can’t just copy the images we find, what should we do instead? Hear from an image designer, a publication editor, a photographer, and an intellectual property lawyer on how to get great images without breaking the bank or violating the law. The panel will offer advice on assessing your image needs, options for acquiring those images, and tips for creating your own.
May 5, 2018 — In my day-to-day work I often need to either convey or understand how something works. When that something is complex in nature domain-specific jargon and acronyms will fail horribly in explaining it. Living in an era where knowledge is power I’m amazed by how poor our tools to share that knowledge are.
Here I will present you a collection of metaphores that helped me and others understand, or explain, how complex stuff works in the context of WordPress and development. I will also share some “gotchas” about this tool as old as children stories.
May 5, 2018 — What could be the benefit of being part of the WordPress Community if you don’t even use WordPress? How far can you get if you decide to step out of your comfort-zone and overcome your fears?
My husband dragged me kicking and screaming to my first WordCamp. I did not even know what WordPress was up to that point and I was scared of meeting the “nerdy” part of my husband’s life probably due to not being able to get involved.
The story I want to share is about how things evolved afterward, as I visited several WordCamps as a passionate volunteer to the point of getting a true WordPress Community-Junkie. It is about how I became a WordCamp organizer, speaker and emcee in almost no time. It is about how I found new enjoyable professional challenges.
It is the story about how I have been changing my life completely in only one year, because I dared to step out of my comfort-zone.
