June 12, 2014 — Unit testing can be scary for anyone who’s not a hard-core dev. But they don’t need to be! I’ll help you get up and running with the WordPress unit test framework so your new patches will never need to sit idle on this report page again! Even if you don’t have a patch to contribute to WordPress, you can still get your name on the contributor list by writing tests for any patches that live on this report, too!

February 24, 2014 — Have you every wondered how you can be part of WordPress? Do you want to contribute to the project but can’t quite find where to start? Don’t worry. Even if you don’t write code there’s a place for you. Everyone has their own niche: there are hundreds of community members doing support, writing documentation, translating WordPress, and organising events. If you’re intrigued come along to learn how to be part of one of the most diverse open source communities around.

February 19, 2014 — In this presentation Ryan Markel talks about how to contribute to WordPress without code. He gives many examples of different ways for contribution and he shows his first contribution to WordPress.

January 9, 2014 — This presentation shows how there’s a whole community ready to help and how you can be part of it. Contributing by helping on the forums, submitting themes, plugins and patches is a great way to expand your network, your knowledge and join an amazing community of like-minded folks.
