October 3, 2022 — 日本の WordPress のユーザーは長年の間、オンライン活動や対面イベントを通して、知識を共有し合い、交流を深めながらこのオープンソースソフトウェアの活用を国内で盛り上げてきました。最近では新型コロナウィルスの影響で対面イベントが少なくなったこともあり、コミュニティ全体で何が起こっているのか知りづらい、もっと参加してみたいけどどうやって一歩を踏み出せばいいのか分からない、と思っている方もいるかもしれません。

この座談会では、皆さんのそんな疑問にお答えすべく、3人の登壇者がトークセッションを行います。

April 13, 2021 — do_action hackathons are community-organized events that are focused on using WordPress to give deserving charitable organizations their own online presence. Each do_action event includes participants from the local WordPress community coming together to plan and build brand new websites for a number of local organizations in one day. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, do_action hackathons have moved online. In this session, we talk about do_action events, and their importance in this post-pandemic world, and on how to effectively organize an online do_action hackathon.

March 20, 2021 — WordPress Internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) happen through the Polyglot Project, which is driven by a team of passionate volunteers who provide translations for a specific language.

i18n and l10n are important contributions to WordPress as an Open Source project. Having WordPress available in all languages makes it accessible to everyone.

This panel discussion will focus on the Polyglots team’s efforts in India and the possible direction of WordPress translations in a diverse country like India with so many languages with so many varieties of scripts.

November 26, 2020 — In this workshop, we’ll share how to set up your WordPress site in another language. You will learn how to change the front-end and back-end (dashboard) language, different types of a multilingual site, and some of the common features of multilingual WordPress plugins.In addition, we will explore two of the popular multilingual plugins, Polylang and TranslatePress. Take a look at their settings and translation editor screens with us, so you can start thinking about the features and translation workflow that your site needs.
