October 16, 2017 — Sandro Gilando attended his WordCamp this past June at WordCamp Kent. Although well versed in SEO practices, Sandro was new to WordPress.He attended the 2 day WordCamp and sat through the WP 101 sessions which were presented by Melinda Helt of the Training Team.

September 5, 2017 — Emanuel Costa is the guy who wears many hats at High Tech Web, INC, the web agency he owns in Las Vegas.

We talk about his involvement in WordPress, the presentations he has given and plans for future WordCamps.

Emanuel attended the DefCon Conference, which was held in Las Vegas at the end of July 2017. This is a Hackers Conference and first began in 1993.

July 3, 2017 — Florian Gottschall is a professional videographer who fell in love with his trade at an early age. He attended the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut (Bavaria) and has had his own business since 2011. He became involved with WordPress in 2010.

Florian and a group of volunteers attended WordCamp Europe and spent their time recording videos of attendees, volunteers, speakers, etc. The videos can be seen on WordPress TV and the YouTube channel.

Because of his commitment to WordPress, Florian has offered WordCamps and Meetups a free subscription for the Vinubis video editor plugin. Feel free to contact him on the plugin website.

June 5, 2017 — When I first contacted Marco Andre about doing an interview, he stated that he would like to have some of the other organizers sit in and take part in the interview.

I did not realize how lucky I would get to interview the group while they were preparing for their Meetup.

Marco Andrei, Rodrigo, Gustavo and Eduardo were part of the ograinzing team for WordCamp Porto Alegre, which was held on May 6thof this year. WordCamp Porto Alegre has been held twice in the past few years and this group hopes to make this an annual event.

We talk about their involvement in the WordPress Community, as well as being involved in other tech related groups in their area.

In preparation for their evening Meetup, Marco Andrei, Rodrigo, Gustavo and Eduardo had prepared a cake and cupcakes to celebrate the 14th anniversary of WordPress.

May 2, 2017 — Dustin Hartzler is a Happiness Engineer at Automattic and lives in the western Ohio area with his wife and two small children.

Dustin has been a Happiness Engineer since 2013. He is currently with the Woo Commerce Team where he enjoys helping people debug and troubleshoot their Woo Commerce issues. He finds it challenging because of all of the different variables that come into play, hosting, themes, plugins, etc.

April 16, 2017 — Ngaire Ackerley returned to her native New Zealand after spending several years working and traveling abroad. She has presented at several WordCamps and was a co-organizer of the WordPress London Meetup Group.

Ngaire presented “Designing For Website Users” at WordCamp Auckland 2017 which was held in March.

March 15, 2017 — WordCamps are really a great place/event to get a lot of learnings, meeting new people, know more of WordPress and many more. All the attendees make the investment of their time and money to attend different WordCamps and therefore they are always very curious to know about ways they can get the most out of the WordCamp. Through all my personal experience attending different camps and interactions with other WordCamp attendees, I have compiled a checklist of things that would be very useful to all attendees of the WordCamp – for this one as well as all the future WordCamps.

March 13, 2017 — Francesca Marano is a WordPress professional, community junkie, author, educator.She enjoys speaking / attending WordCamps and Meetups.

She is the founder of the website C+B, a blog for Italian female creative entrepreneurs, with an editorial staff of more than 50 professionals offering advice to women who work on their own. The website has 40,000 readers.

January 26, 2017 — “What is your wish for WP in 2017?” That was one of the questions the VINUBIS crew and I asked to our interviewees at WordCamp US.

From “more REST API” and “better user experience”, to “improved theme or plugin repositories,” we got a little bit of all! Just watch all our WCUS interviews on the VINUBIS Video Editor Youtube channel.

A few interesting conversations arose around the growth of the Asian WordPress community. Some of the main representatives of this community were present at WCUS and they shared with us their hopes for a “WordCamp Asia.” Probably not in 2017, but hopefully in 2018, as they all explain in this video.
