November 13, 2017 — My software, InstantWP, has been downloaded over a 1.2 million times and is used worldwide by developers, universities and businesses. InstantWP is a complete standalone, portable WordPress development environment. It turns any Windows or Mac machine into a WordPress development server. It should even run from a USB key.
The new version is GPL and runs on Windows and Mac and sets up a portable WordPress server in under a minute.

This talk will give an overview of InstantWP and the open source virtualisation technology underneath, QEMU. Some tips and tricks in using InstantWP to set up a development environment for various types of users, from theme and plugin developers and beginners.
