July 3, 2024 — Learn WordPress, the WordPress project’s official educational web site, is relaunching later this year with a brand new information architecture and design!

The Training Team is working to improve the Learn WordPress website experience to provide an easy-to-navigate, goal-oriented learning environment that caters to learners of different roles and skill levels.

Particularly exciting is the new focus on Learning Pathways – curated sets of lessons for learners of different levels, roles, and use-cases.

Come join this session to learn about Learn WordPress’ past, its present, and the vision the WordPress Training Team have for its future.

You’ll also get a early glimpse of the new site redesign, and find out how Learning Pathways can help any WordPresser in their journey of learning WordPress.

And as a final bonus, we’ll explain how anyone interested can get involved with the revamp and future growth of Learn WordPress.

June 2, 2024 — Learn.WordPress.org (Learn WordPress) is the WordPress project’s official learning platform. There, you’ll find hundreds of WordPress-related education resources, including live Online Workshops conducted every week!

Online Workshops are free interactive learning sessions that anyone can attend. These are conducted by vetted facilitators, who are often assisted by vetted co-hosts. Anyone can apply to facilitate or co-host an Online Workshop and the WordPress Training Team is excited to help you get involved!

Come join Ben as he walks through the process of facilitating and co-hosting an Online Workshop. There’s never been a more exciting time to get involved with the WordPress Training Team and have a strong impact on the WordPress community!

In this workshop, team rep Ben will introduce attendees to the Training Team, and its five areas of contribution. Participants will learn what it means to be a Content Creator, Editor, Content Translator, Subject Matter Expert, and Administrator, for the team. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of what they can do next to contribute to the Training Team and its goals.

February 26, 2024 — コロナ禍で Meetup などの対人イベントが減った中、WordPress ユーザーが引き続き学べる場として作成された WordPress プロジェクト公式教育サイト「Learn WordPress」。実はその立ち上げの背後には、12年前まで遡るちょっとした歴史と、たくさんのコミュニティーメンバーの貢献がありました。

今は色々な対人イベントが再開してはいますが、WordPress プロジェクトとしては「いつでも誰でもオンラインで WordPress を学べる機会」を提供し続ける必要性を感じています。WordPress Training チームはプロジェクトのその使命を担い、「Learn WordPress」を今の学習者にあった教育サイトとして一新し、2024年7月にリメイク公開しようと動き出しています。

このセッションでは、Learn WordPress の過去を辿り、現在を紹介し、将来に対して掲げられているビジョンに焦点を当てます。そして学習者のニーズにあったサイトとしてリメイクされている今、日本コミュニティーの私たちがどう貢献できるか紹介します。開発者もデザイナーも一般のユーザーも、誰もがサイトの次のステップに携われます！

December 15, 2023 — The Make WordPress Training team are stewards of Learn.WordPress.org – the official education website for WordPress. The team uses multiple GitHub project boards to track content development, updates, and localization. It’s also where we track contributions from team members, and where we triage website development bugs and feature requests.

Over the last month, many updates have been introduced into the team’s GitHub repository and processes. These were introduced with the goal of reducing complexity, opening up more processes to more contributors, and preparing for future updates to the Learn WordPress website itself.

In this workshop, team rep Ben will walkthrough these updates and demonstrate the new processes live. It’ll be a great chance to see the new workflows in action, ask your questions, and even provide feedback on how things could be even better.
