October 31, 2020 — Inclusivity is at the heart of an effective content strategy. Accessible code may be imperative for inclusion, but the value of code is compromised when content is not meaningful to our readers.
This talk explores what we can do as content authors to ensure our readers feel that we are speaking with them, not at them. It reaches beyond semantic markup and structured content to recognize the strategic value of inclusive content.
June 21, 2020 — Every website should ideally be built so that whoever visits it, for whichever possible reason, is able to navigate through it: we can describe this idea as Universal Design.
Obviously, in practice, it’s impossible to build the perfect website for everyone, but, if we want to take steps towards this ideal, three concepts can guide our choices: accessibility, usability and inclusion. In this talk, Stefano will explore these concepts, discussing what they are, what makes them different from one another (despite their overlappings) and how we can use them together to build the best possible experience for most of our users.

With this talk, he want to explain how he have perceived these issues during his involvement in communities over the years, and want to raise some questions about the current situation, and what can be done to improve (and what exactly do we call improvement in such a case).
July 5, 2016 — Having graduated in Social Design, my ability to merge this field with communication in the world of web puts me in a stimulating position today, but it’s a position not many women know they can reach; especially women of colour – since the tech world is portrayed as a male-dominated industry. I hope to contribute to the growing conversation about how we can make tech more welcoming and accessible for women whose contribution in such fields is often overlooked.
