June 2, 2017 — The GovIntranet WordPress theme was released in 2013 and since then I’ve been supporting an open source community of users and developers.

In this session I’ll talk about my experience of developing in the open and working out loud, what I’ve learned since starting as a WordPress developer and the ups and downs of managing ongoing theme and plugin development.

May 8, 2017 — Wow! Just wow!

When I first started to consider asking Cate DeRosia if she would be interested in being interviewed, I thought she might have something interesting to say to the WordPress world. This interview far exceeded any expectations I had.

This interview was done at WordCamp Jackson, where we were able to find a quite place in between sessions.

Cate talks about being the spouse of a remote WordPress developer. She discusses attending WordCamps and getting to know people in the Community she had only heard about and building her own relationships.

We discuss raising children in the digital age, the steps taken to protect them and letting children find their own way. Cate talks about taking their children to WordCamps and how they forged their own relationships in the WordPress Community.

May 4, 2017 — his talk on will focus on why one should attend a WordCamp and how to make the most out of your WordCamp experience. With more WordCamps happening in India this year (props to WCUdaipur and WCKochi), Utsav’s talk comes just at the right moment.

He believes, he can provide a little something on how one can make the most out of this grand event. He thinks, be it in your city or miles away in another country, attending WordCamps should be more than just attending sessions.

May 2, 2017 — Dustin Hartzler is a Happiness Engineer at Automattic and lives in the western Ohio area with his wife and two small children.

Dustin has been a Happiness Engineer since 2013. He is currently with the Woo Commerce Team where he enjoys helping people debug and troubleshoot their Woo Commerce issues. He finds it challenging because of all of the different variables that come into play, hosting, themes, plugins, etc.

April 30, 2017 — Compatibility is a cornerstone of WordPress, unfortunately, not something nearly enough community members take seriously, whether its contributing to core, plugin, theme or even organizing meetups.

Harshad Mane’s talk would focus on all aspects of how to make your plugin, theme, and your local community compatible with WordPress.

Harshad would like to share his thoughts on how to make things/people work together without conflict(s) building a healthy community.

April 3, 2017 — Bridgett Willard is the Marketing Manager at WordImpress. She started her career with office work, earned a teaching degree, but returned to the office where she carved out a career in social media and marketing.

She is the co-host of WPblab and co-organizer of Women Who WP meetup.

In 2013, the first WordCamp Europe jump started several local communities in European countries and inspired hundreds of people to start contributing back. Having existed mostly in the shadows of the contributing efforts since 2003, the WordPress Polyglots team is now gaining strong momentum while its 17 000 strong volunteer team is working tirelessly to remove the language barriers for users. In 2016 the team organized the 2 largest online WordPress contributor days to this day with more than 800 people joining to translate in 132 languages.

March 20, 2017 — Pascal Birchler resides in Zurich, Switzerland and is a student and a passionate developer. He was a co-organizer of the WordPress Zurich Meetup as well as WordCamp Switzerland 2014 and 2015.

He built his first website and began blogging as a 12-year-old in 2006. He started blogging about WordPress in 2008.
